Job summary

Geary County is seeking an Equipment Operator to perform road and bridge maintenance, equipment operation, and facilities upkeep for county residents and the public. This role includes operating tandem dump trucks, mowers, tractors, and loaders, performing minor maintenance, and handling materials and paperwork.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of truck driving experience; CDL training assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of experience in truck driving.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety operations.

Responsibilities

• Road maintenance: operate tandem dump trucks, mowers, tractors, and loaders for roads and bridges.
• Equipment maintenance: perform minor vehicle upkeep and basic welding/cutting tasks.
• Administrative tasks: complete time worked, locations and material usage documentation.
• Building and grounds: upkeep of facilities, grounds, and related cleanup tasks.
