Job summary

Brown County Construction Co. is seeking a Construction Equipment Operator to join our outdoor construction crew. You will operate excavators, dozers, backhoes and similar machinery on road and infrastructure projects, following supervisor directions and job specs.

Applicants should be safety-conscious, dependable, and able to perform some manual labor like grading and asphalt work. Valid driver's license is required and work occurs in varying weather and terrain.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment on construction sites; highway or asphalt experience preferred.
• Must be safety-conscious and able to follow procedures.
• Ability to work in a team and independently in varying outdoor conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, backhoes) per supervisor and specs.
• Ensure equipment is run safely, efficiently, and within tolerances.
• Perform manual labor to assist crew (grading, loading, laying asphalt).
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor servicing of equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
