Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced equipment operator to run backhoes, excavators, loaders and support machinery on diverse earthworks and pavement projects. You will help with excavation, grading and delivering materials while following strict safety rules.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license (CDL may be required) and the ability to travel or work on outdoor sites in all weather.

Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practices.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• May be required to maintain CDL.
• Must be 18 years of age or older with the ability to lift up to 60 pounds; pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to read, write and understand math and English.
• May have up to 3 years experience operating skid steer, rubber tire loader, backhoe, roller/compact, dump truck, water truck or off-road trucks.

Responsibilities

• Operate several types of power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete or other surfaces.
• Assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials during installation.
• Excavate, move, and grade earth in a safe and productive manner.
• Interpret hand signals for material placement and operate attachments such as blades, buckets and scrapers.
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure safe operation and pass required certification tests.
