Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Texas seeks a skilled equipment operator to drive backhoes, excavators, and other heavy machinery to excavate, move and grade earth, and assist with construction tasks. Safety and adherence to OSHA regulations are essential.

The role requires reading survey stakes, following signals, performing basic maintenance, and passing required certifications. Willingness to travel and pass pre-employment checks is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of OSHA excavation regulations and practices.
• Ability to read survey stakes for alignment and grading.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be 18+ and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; CDL may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade earth.
• Assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials during installation.
• Interpret hand signals to determine material placement.
• Inspect equipment daily and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain safety and project policies; observe all company rules.
• Pass required certification tests for operating certain equipment.
• Complete annual physical examination as required.
