Job summary

Washington County in Arkansas is seeking an Operator I to support the Road Department. The incumbent performs labor tasks for road construction, improvement, and maintenance and operates road equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and graders.

Responsibilities include parts inventory management, radio communications support, and shop/tool upkeep. The position is full-time with a 7am–5:00pm workday, pays $18.61–$20.51 per hour, and requires passing background checks and drug testing.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required
• This position is subject to pre-employment, random drug and reasonable suspicion testing
• Candidate must pass an assignment drug test for promotional positions

Responsibilities

• Performs labor tasks in construction, improvement, and maintenance of county roads
• Operates road department equipment including dump trucks, loaders and graders
• Responsible for procurement and maintenance of parts inventory
• Assists with two-way radio communications
• Maintains the physical condition of the shop building and assigned tools/equipment
