Job summary

Washington County is seeking an Operator III to perform labor tasks in the construction, improvement, and maintenance of county roads. The role includes operating dump trucks, loaders, and graders, maintaining inventory and shop tools, and assisting with radio communications.

The incumbent will monitor signing, install highway signs, and handle miscellaneous duties related to signs and equipment upkeep. A background check and security clearances may be required; pre-employment and random drug

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required.
• Subject to pre-employment, random drug testing and reasonable suspicion testing.
• If a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor tasks in the construction, improvement, and maintenance of county roads.
• Operate road department equipment including dump trucks, loaders and graders.
• Procure and maintain parts inventory; assist with two-way radio communications.
• Maintain the shop building and tools/equipment; monitor identification and informational signing.
• Make and install highway signs as needed.
