Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, is seeking a Prep crew laborer to support highway, grade and paving crews through ground preparation, grading, leveling, and base work. You will assist with paving, traffic control, material handling, and site cleanup while maintaining safety standards on the jobsite.

Responsibilities include operating hand tools, shovels, and compactors; setting grade stakes; coordinating with equipment operators; and ensuring compliance with OSHA/MSHA procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write correspondences and memos.

Responsibilities

• Ground Preparation: grade and level subgrade and base materials.
• Remove debris and unsuitable material from construction path.
• Shovel, rake, and spread aggregate and road base materials.
• Operate hand tools and compactors to level base layers.
• Pave and grade crew support: rake and level material behind paving equipment.
• Assist with traffic control setup and site organization.
• Load/unload materials and perform general labor duties.
• Follow OSHA/MSHA safety procedures at all times.
