Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, is seeking a Prep Crew Laborer in St. George, UT. You will support ground prep, road base work, and paving crews, performing manual tasks to prepare surfaces for road construction.

The role requires reading instructions, following safety procedures, and a strong work ethic. High school diploma preferred; some experience helpful; valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years related experience or training.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ground prep: grade and level subgrade and base materials.
• Remove debris and obstacles from construction path.
• Shovel, rake, and spread aggregate, dirt, and base materials.
• Operate hand tools and compactors to level base layers.
• Set grade stakes and lines to guide base prep and paving work.
• Assist paving crews by raking and leveling material behind equipment.
• Walk with pavers to shape and finish roadway surfaces.
• Signal operators for alignment and safe movement.
• Load, unload, move and distribute materials and tools.
• Help with traffic control setup (cones, barriers, signage).
• Clean tools and maintain equipment; keep site organized.
• Perform manual labor such as digging and sweeping; use small power tools.
