Job summary

The City of Yuma is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Public Works Department. You will run construction and maintenance equipment to support streets, roadways, and related infrastructure under supervision, adhering to safety rules and city policies.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of equipment operation experience, preferably in road work. Arizona CDL-B is required in the near term with related certifications within one year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year experience operating equipment in road construction/public works.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of trucks and equipment (dump, water, compaction roller, asphalt patching, etc.).
• Assist in maintenance, repair, and construction of streets and infrastructure.
• Set up traffic control zones and assist with flagging to ensure safety.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment before and after shifts.
• Follow safety regulations and procedures at all times.
