Job summary

The City of Yuma is seeking a Street Maintenance Worker to join the Public Works Department. You will maintain streets, sewers, and signage, operate trucks and equipment, and follow safety rules. The role supports city infrastructure and public safety day-to-day.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of road construction or related maintenance experience; CDL, MUTCD, and safety certifications are beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; plus 1 year road construction experience.
• Internal applicants: 1 year general maintenance in retention basin, asphalt roads, concrete work, or traffic control signs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining, repairing, and constructing streets, roadways, and signage.
• Operates trucks and equipment; patches asphalt and installs street components.
• Sets up traffic control zones and follows safety regulations.
