Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of carpentry experience in heavy civil construction. Proficiency in reading blueprints and maintaining safety on site is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of carpentry experience in heavy civil construction (road construction preferred).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Strong carpentry knowledge of techniques, tools, and materials.
• Capacity for physical labor (lifting, long hours, varying weather).
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation to Houston, TX job sites.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard using hand and power tools.
• Build and dismantle concrete forms, shoring, and scaffolding per blueprints and specs.
• Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or fixtures.
• Collaborate with concrete finishers, ironworkers, and laborers to complete projects.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
