Primoris Heavy Civil in Golden Meadow, LA seeks a skilled Carpenter to perform carpentry on heavy civil projects, including concrete forms, structural framing, and general construction tasks. The role requires precision and safety awareness.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, building forms, installing components, coordinating with trades, and maintaining a clean work area; OSHA 10 preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of Carpenter experience in heavy civil construction.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics and construction drawings.
• Skilled with hand and power tools used in carpentry.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and construction techniques.
• Physically capable of demanding work in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project specifications and layout.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials according to specifications, using hand and power tools.
• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
• Build concrete forms for foundations, columns, beams, and other structural elements, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
• Install blocking, furring, and bracing as required.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Work safely and efficiently, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure project milestones are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
