Job summary

Victim Support in West Mercia is seeking a part-time Road Collision Caseworker to deliver trauma-informed support to service users affected by road incidents. The role combines home-based work with travel across West Mercia, requiring a compassionate, patient approach and strong advocacy skills.

The post focuses on risk and needs assessments, collaborative support planning, and close liaison with agencies to ensure continuity of care for bereaved or affected individuals. Driving is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of complex case management including advocacy.
• Experience of developing links with partner organisations.
• Experience of risk and needs assessment frameworks.
• Understanding of coronial (inquest) processes.
• Knowledge of trauma informed working practices.
• Understanding of effective safeguarding practices.
• Knowledge of working with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload from referral to exit, following Victim Support’s policies and standards.
• Undertake needs assessments with all eligible service users (including children/young people).
• Develop and review a bespoke Support Plan with service users at key points.
• Provide trauma-informed support in person or remotely, including home visits.
• Advocate on behalf of service users with authorities and partner agencies.
