Job summary

Lemhi County is seeking a qualified individual to assist the Road and Bridge Supervisor in managing daily activities and staff of the Road and Bridge Department. Work is performed in office and field environments, requiring readiness for adverse weather and heavy equipment operation.

The role includes on-call response as needed. Responsibilities include supervising field maintenance, training staff, inspecting roads and structures, and maintaining logs and records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of road, bridge, and right-of-way maintenance and construction methods.
• Knowledge of snow removal, sanding, and deicing procedures.
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to supervise field staff and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily and long-term Road & Bridge operations.
• Supervise field maintenance and construction projects.
• Train staff and administer safety program.
• Inspect roads, bridges, and related county property for maintenance needs.
• Respond to public inquiries and complaints; investigate incidents.
• Perform Equipment Operator duties as needed.
• Maintain work logs, reports, and records.
