Qualifications

• General construction experience preferred.
• Experience with NCDOT construction procedures is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Report to the resident engineer and maintain good communications.
• Provide inspection and quality assurance on roadway or bridge construction projects.
• Determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utility agencies.
• Maintain the records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate with the general contractor and assist in negotiating change orders.
• Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of contract change orders, estimates, pay estimates, and related documents.
• Monitor and track contractor progress; prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with project team, and Construction Staking and Material Testing CMCs.
