Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Asheville, NC team. You will provide field inspection and quality assurance on roadway and bridge projects, report to the resident engineer, and coordinate with contractors and public utilities to ensure work meets plans and specifications.

Requirements include general construction experience, ability to read engineered drawings, a valid driver's license, and strength to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• General construction experience is preferred.
• Experience with NCDOT construction procedures is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to read engineered drawings and interpret plans.
• Experience with field testing of construction materials is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Report to the resident engineer and maintain clear communications.
• Provide inspection and quality assurance on roadway or bridge construction projects.
• Determine if completed work follows plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with the contractor and public utilities.
• Maintain project records and reports.
• Assist in change orders and contract documentation.
• Coordinate sampling and testing of materials for compliance.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Collaborate with project team and testing agencies.
