Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced construction inspector for Greenville, SC to support transportation projects. You will report to the resident engineer, perform quality assurance, and coordinate with contractors and utility agencies to ensure work complies with plans and specifications.

The role requires minimum 1 year of construction experience, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; NCDOT inspection/testing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of construction experience.
• Experience and certifications in NCDOT inspection and materials testing preferred (earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pavement preservation, E&S control).
• Experience with NCDOT construction procedures is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Report to the resident engineer and maintain good communications.
• Provide inspection and quality assurance on roadway or bridge construction projects.
• Determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with the contractor and public utility agencies.
• Maintain the records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate with the general contractor and assist in negotiating change orders.
• Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans, specs, and provisions.
• Assist in preparation of change orders, estimates, and other reports; coordinate sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Monitor and track contractor progress; prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with the project team and CMCs.
