Job summary

OPAL Fuels in Manassas, VA is hiring a Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our Renewable Natural Gas facility. You will maximize production, reduce downtime, and uphold strict safety and environmental standards.

You will report to the Lead Plant Operator and be a key part of keeping the site running smoothly. The role requires mechanical skills, experience with pumps or compressors, and the ability to work a rotating schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills required.
• Experience with pumps, blowers or air compressors.
• Ability to read and write clearly and maintain records.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate, adjust and repair equipment to maximize plant production.
• Perform daily checks on flow meters, gauges and compressors to prevent failures.
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes and filter replacements.
• Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance outages and overhauls.
• Maintain detailed daily production and equipment records.
• Manage plant inventory and ensure parts are stocked.
• Uphold safety and environmental compliance on site.
