Job summary

Opal Fuels in Marissa, IL is hiring a Lead Plant Operator for their Cottonwood RNG site. This role requires oversight of all daily operations, ensuring safety and environmental compliance while maintaining production efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in the Renewable gas production industry, mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and a focus on operational excellence. The position includes working with a construction team, leading operational duties, and requires occasional night shifts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Renewable gas production industry experience preferred.
• Must possess good mechanical skills with mechanical/basic electrical knowledge/troubleshooting experience.
• General troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities in a Renewable Natural Gas facility.
• Coordinate maintenance tasks with management and operators.
• Monitor operations to maximize production and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in and around the plant.
• Ensure operators maintain detailed records on production data.

Skills

Renewable gas production industry experience

Record-keeping

General troubleshooting

Computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Mechanical skills

Pressure, vacuum, and flow knowledge

Experience with pumps and blowers

Heavy equipment operations
