RNG Plant O&M Technician – Electrical & Instrumentation

Job summary

NAES is seeking an O&M Technician for the Athena RNG site to support safe operations and electrical maintenance across the plant. You will interface with SCADA, run tests, inspect, repair, install and remove equipment up to 480 volts, and help ensure regulatory compliance.

The role also involves monitoring digestion processes, data analysis, sampling, and working with instrumentation and control systems. Regular schedule with potential extended hours and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; additional technical training is a plus
• Knowledge of wastewater operations is a plus
• Experience with voltages up to 480 volts is highly desirable
• Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) or gas processing experience is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to listen
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must be skilled in the use of hand and power-driven tools
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Assist with operations, maintenance and overall activities at the facility
• Monitor anaerobic digestion equipment, gauges and charts in the digester, electrical generation, and waste treatment processes
• Record and analyze statistical data concerning plant operations ensuring that the plant is running as specified
• Troubleshoot failures and malfunctions to determine the root cause and maintain, operate, repair and replace equipment as necessary
• Maintain, modify or repair instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flowmeter and other water quality monitoring equipment
• Collect samples for testing and reporting and perform lab analysis for process control
• Ensure that plant operates within required standards
• Monitor performance of electrical systems, circuits or equipment of the treatment plant
• Maintain a clean and presentable plant environment
