Job summary

Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital Shiloh seek an experienced RNFA to serve as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. The RNFA works alongside the surgeon to provide direct patient care and collaborates with the perioperative team and patient-support persons to plan care.

The role requires an RN license, 2–5 years of nursing experience, and certification credentials such as RNFA and CNOR.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required.
• 2–5 years perioperative or related nursing experience.
• RNFA certification preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member.
• Pre-operatively performs a focused nursing assessment in reference to planned procedure.
• Analyzes the assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis and communicates desired patient outcomes.
• Participates in professional development and life long learning and contributes to the professional growth of peers and others.
