The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs seeks a registered nurse for our state veterans' nursing homes. You will provide high-quality patient care, administer medications, and document care under RN supervision.

Qualifikationen

• Must possess a valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
• Must possess a valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR).
• Must be able and willing to work on a schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.
• One (1) year experience providing services as a registered nurse in a long-term health care environment.
• Experience with medication administration.
• Experience working with Electronic Medical Records.
• Experience working with Matrix Care.
• Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Aufgaben

• Provide quality professional care to veteran residents and assess their health needs.
• Administer medications and treatments per MD orders and document accurately.
• Supervise SLPN/SCNA and other allied health staff under RN supervision.
• Coordinate care and therapy scheduling with other departments.
• Communicate observations to physicians, family, and nursing leadership.
• Maintain standards of nursing care and ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are used safely and kept clean.
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement programs.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
