Job description

Recruit Secure is collaborating with a highly rated Skilled Nursing Home (100+ beds) in the Albany, NY area that is seeking an experienced and caring RN Unit Manager for a direct hire position. The Unit Manager will be responsible for directing the nursing staff and overseeing the operations of the assigned Nursing Unit. Additionally, the Unit Manager supports the Director of Nursing in achieving high standards of patient care and assists patients, families, and staff. The successful candidate will have experience as an RN in a Skilled Nursing Home, with a proven track record of mentoring and supervising staff, interacting with interdisciplinary teams and physicians, and familiarity with DOH regulations. The position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Handle all supervisory duties for the unit.
• Establish and implement employee policies and procedures.
• Mentor less experienced nurses, providing clinical and career advice.
• Maintain the standards of care for the unit.
• Review resident records and quality of care.
• Monitor overall care and review individual residents’ cases.
• Address questions or complaints from residents or their families.
• Represent the unit's interests with upper management.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Long Term Care experience.
• At least 1 year of Charge Nurse or Supervisory experience.
• Valid NY RN License required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
