Job summary

KARIER seeks a seasoned Unit Manager (RN) in Connecticut to oversee two downstairs long-term care units, with 24/7 clinical and administrative accountability. You will report to the Director of Nursing and drive clinical quality, care planning, and regulatory compliance across your caseload.

You will lead unit nursing staff, coordinate with physicians and families, and ensure smooth operations under CMS and DPH guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active CT RN license required.
• Minimum 3+ years clinical nursing in SNF/LTC with 1–2 years leadership.
• Deep LTC regulatory knowledge and infection control experience.
• EMR proficiency with PointClickCare for care management and auditing.
• Strong leadership and communication with families and teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage two downstairs units with 24/7 clinical/administrative responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with DPH, CMS, and QAPI; lead daily unit operations.
• Oversee care planning, MDS reviews, wound care, and readmission prevention.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate RNs, LPNs, CNAs; coordinate with DON and desk nurse.
• Communicate with physicians, families, and providers regarding care plans.
• Conduct root-cause analyses for incidents and implement corrective actions.
