Job summary

The Grand Healthcare System is seeking a Registered Nurse Unit Manager for a full-time day shift in New York. This clinical leader will oversee daily unit operations, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality resident care in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities include directing nursing team activities, maintaining standards, reviewing records, and coordinating with leadership to resolve challenges while fostering a supportive environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license required.
• 2+ years of long-term care experience preferred.
• 1+ year of Unit Manager experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency for clinical documentation and communication.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff while overseeing daily unit activities.
• Ensure facility and employee policies and procedures are followed consistently.
• Provide clinical direction, coaching, and mentorship to nurses and other members of the team.
• Maintain appropriate standards of nursing care with a focus on resident safety and quality outcomes.
• Review resident documentation and medical records to help ensure appropriate and effective care.
• Complete case reviews and monitor compliance with individualized resident care plans.
• Respond to resident and family questions, concerns, and needs with professionalism and compassion.
• Monitor inventory and ensure the unit has adequate medical and nursing supplies.
• Partner with upper management to communicate unit needs, resolve challenges, and improve operations.
• Help foster a positive, collaborative environment for both residents and staff.
