Overview

The Unit Manager is responsible for the nursing services and oversight of social programming for all residents on his/her assigned unit for a twenty-four (24) hour basis. This involves communication with physicians, families, co-workers, and other healthcare professionals, as well as management and evaluation of nursing staff performance, hiring, and termination of staff. The individual is responsible for nursing care reporting, documentation, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Salary

Pay: up to $99,450 / year

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate residents’ nursing care plans, coordinating interdisciplinary goals and approaches to residents’ healthcare needs.
  • Maintain the unit and environment in good order to ensure the well-being of staff and residents.
  • Attend all meetings and required or preferred in-service training as requested by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
  • Generate and develop ideas to improve the quality of care for residents or increase job productivity and satisfaction.
  • Encourage staff involvement and recognize exceptional contributions.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid state license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role.
  • Interest or experience in geriatrics.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Experience with dementia population is desirable.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level to ensure effective communication and a safe work environment.
