Job summary

Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center in West Orange, New Jersey is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead our nursing team. You will work with the DON and ADON to ensure high-quality resident care and drive quality initiatives.

The role requires an NJ RN license, 3+ years of supervisory experience, and preferred long-term care experience. This is a full-time position with a competitive pay rate of $105,000 per year.

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey is required.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or similar setting preferred.
• Long-term care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations with DON and ADON.
• Supervise staff and ensure quality care delivery.
• Manage staffing to maintain coverage and minimize overtime/agency use.
• Address resident and family concerns professionally.
• Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Oversee MDS completion and quality assurance initiatives.
• Teach and evaluate nursing skills for staff development.
• Assist with recruitment and hiring of nursing personnel.
• Attend facility committees and support goals.

About the Role

Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. Key Responsibilities

• Support the DON and ADON in overseeing daily nursing operations.
• Supervise professional and non-professional staff, ensuring quality care delivery.
• Manage unit staffing to maintain proper coverage and minimize overtime/agency use.
• Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Provide coaching, progressive counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Oversee MDS completion and quality assurance initiatives.
• Teach, demonstrate, and evaluate nursing skills to support staff development.
• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of nursing personnel.
• Attend committee meetings and contribute to facility-wide goals.
• Step into nursing responsibilities on weekends/holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Current RN license in New Jersey.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or similar setting (preferred).
• Previous long-term care experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices.
