Job summary

The Laurels of Chatham is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead and educate skilled nursing staff in our facility. You will provide, plan, coordinate and manage nursing care and health education for residents.

Responsibilities include supervising RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, reviewing procedures, evaluating systems, and contributing to MDS/CAA assessments and care planning. CPR and state RN license required or desired for advancement.

Qualifications

• Current state license to practice as a nurse, RN.
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality Resident care and performance of staff.
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the Resident’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the development of a plan of care.
• Develops a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.
• Evaluates the Resident’s responses to nursing interventions.
• Knows the rationale for the effect of medications and treatments and correctly administers them.
