Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a nursing leader to join our team and drive unit-level strategies aligned with the Magnet framework. You will participate in formulating nursing policies, interpret procedures, and promote evidence-based practice across departments.

You will supervise clinical staff, mentor colleagues, and coordinate education programs while ensuring high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BSN program and 2 years of experience in nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership consistent with Magnet philosophy and organizational goals.
• Formulate nursing policies and contribute to policies for other departments.
• Communicate policies and procedures to patients, visitors and staff.
• Promote positive guest relations and evidence-based practice.
• Foster relations with Medical Director and Physician Liaison.
• Supervise assigned personnel, mentor staff, and delegate actions.
• Coordinate attendance at internal and external educational programs.
• Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Educators on orientation and competencies.
• Oversee orientation, onboarding, and integration of new hires.
• Conduct performance appraisals, manage attendance, and staffing.
• Address performance issues and disciplinary processes as needed.
• Design and implement strategic operational plans for changes in healthcare.
• Ensure fiscal accountability and meet worked hour statistics.
• Promote service standards and measure performance against targets.
• Resolve patient and customer issues promptly and review risks to educate staff.
