Job summary

Brookhaven Health Care Facility in East Patchogue, NY, part of The McGuire Group, seeks an RN Unit Manager (Weekends Only) to lead a nursing unit. The role oversees clinical operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and supervises nursing staff.

Shift is Saturdays and Sundays from 7 am to 3 pm with a pay rate of $45–$50 per hour, depending on experience. The RN will coordinate resident care, update care plans, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and uphold compassionate, resident-centered

Qualifications

• NYS Registered Nurse license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in long-term care
• 3–5 years LT care experience with supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership and team supervision abilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical care and daily operations of an assigned nursing unit
• Supervise nursing staff, nursing assistants, rehabilitation aides, and unit support staff
• Conduct resident assessments and ensure care plans are implemented and updated
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes with providers and families
• Review orders, labs, incident reports, and quality indicators
• Participate in care plan meetings, family meetings, QAPI activities, interdisciplinary rounds
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, and resident services
• Ensure accurate documentation, medication management, and regulatory compliance
• Support staff education, orientation, coaching, and performance management
• Monitor infection control, immunization tracking, resident safety, and quality initiatives
• Address resident, family, and staff concerns and promote a positive care environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Ensure accurate documentation, medication management, and regulatory compliance

• Address resident, family, and staff concerns while promoting a positive care environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a long-term care setting required
• 3-5 years of long-term care experience with supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, and long-term care regulations
• Leadership experience with the ability to supervise, coach, and mentor staff
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate care across multiple disciplines and manage competing priorities
• Experience with quality improvement, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance preferred
• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care
