Corewell Health’s Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at Taylor Hospital is seeking an RN to deliver professional nursing care for patients on a 14-bed unit, employing the nursing process and patient/family centered care to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team trained in neuro trauma and rehabilitation to maximize gains in cognitive, physical, and psychological functions.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process with patient-family centered care principles.
• Collaborate with Nurse Leader and adhere to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patient care.
• Educate patients and families and document education in the health record.

Our interdisciplinary team is specially trained in neuro trauma, brain and spinal cord injury/rehabilitation.

About Taylor Hospital

A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).

Scope of Work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
