Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate the evaluation of transplant candidates and living donors, manage waiting lists, and prepare patients for transplantation. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, serving as the main contact for patients, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers.

The role involves participation in program research, guideline development, quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining comprehensive program statistics to support patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• RN license in Alabama required or eligible.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate evaluation of potential candidates or living donors for transplantation.
• Add patients to the transplant waiting list and prepare patients for transplantation.
• Coordinate post-transplant care and serve as primary contact for patients, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Participate in program research, develop guidelines, and assist with quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain program statistics and support ongoing research and development.
