Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate transplant candidate and living donor evaluations. You will add patients to the waiting list, prepare them for transplantation, and coordinate post-transplant care.

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will be the primary contact for patients, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers, while supporting program development and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Three (3) years of related experience required; no substitution.
• Current RN license by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate evaluation of potential candidates or living donors for transplantation.
• Add patients to the transplant waiting list and prepare for transplantation.
• Coordinate post-transplant care and serve as primary contact for patients, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Assist with development of program guidelines and quality improvement initiatives; maintain statistics.
