Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Transition to Practice Educator in Chicago, IL to provide continued educational support for new nurses. You will coordinate unit-based orientation resources and mentor staff, serving as a clinical liaison to ensure timely progression of orientation.

The role requires an active RN license in the state, BLS certification, at least 2 years acute care experience, and 1 year precepting. BSN preferred and full-time day shift.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license issued by the State.
• BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide education, training and mentoring to new nurses.
• Coordinate needs and resources for each new nurse during orientation.
• Act as liaison between education and clinical managers to facilitate timely release from orientation.
• Address knowledge and skill deficits by coordinating available resources.
