Silver Cross Hospital invites new graduate RNs to join the Transition to Practice Program, an 11‑month, six‑session development track with simulation, evidence‑based review, peer debriefing, and hands‑on precepted practice across core units. Eligibility includes final BSN/MSN within six months or recent graduation, Illinois RN license or NCLEX eligibility, and BLS.

Most new grads are placed in full‑time night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) in Medical‑Surgical, Telemetry, Neurology, Oncology, or Post‑Op

Qualifications

• Final semester in accredited ADN/BSN/MSN program within six months or recent graduate
• Illinois RN license verified by IDFPR or NCLEX eligibility to practice by start date
• BLS CPR certification from American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Participate in Transition to Practice Program with six sessions over 11 months
• Under guidance of a preceptor, gain hands‑on clinical experience in designated units
• Engage in simulation, case reviews, and skill refinement to support clinical practice
