Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Transition to Practice Educator to provide ongoing educational support and mentoring to new nurses during orientation and beyond. You will coordinate unit-based resources, assess needs in real time, and collaborate with education and clinical managers to ensure timely release from orientation while promoting patient outcomes.

The role requires a valid RN license, current BLS, 2 years acute care, and 1 year precepting experience; BSN

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational support and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area.
• Coordinate needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during orientation.
• Serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate timely release from orientation.
• Assess needs and performance in live time and address knowledge/skill deficits through coordination of resources.
