Job summary

Riverside Healthcare is seeking a Patient Throughput Coordinator to optimize patient flow and bed management. The role collaborates with nursing leadership and other departments to identify throughput barriers and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.

The coordinator will monitor LOS, discharge readiness, and throughput performance, while engaging in continuous quality improvement and real-time problem solving to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
• BLS required; ACLS may be required or preferred depending on unit.
• BSN preferred or higher in nursing leadership or care coordination contexts.

Responsibilities

• Patient Flow Coordination: monitor capacity and patient flow in real time and address barriers.
• Admission & Discharge Oversight: coordinate admissions and transfers; ensure discharge readiness.
• Quality Improvement: participate in chart audits and identify documentation gaps for improvement.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: work with physicians, case management, therapy, and other teams.
• Operational Efficiency: support LOS and bed turnaround by using dashboards and data insights.
• Clinical Support: provide care coordination support and ensure transitions of care meet standards.
