Job summary

Longmont United Hospital in Colorado is seeking an RN Telephone Triage in our Call Center to manage calls from diverse clients, perform health assessments, provide information, and refer to physicians or services.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse with strong telephone triage skills, health assessment experience, BLS certification, and current RN licensure; prior hospital, home health, or clinic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
• Three (3) years recent hospital, home health or clinic experience.
• RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls for all product lines and provides thorough and accurate telephone triage.
• Assesses patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Documents all calls according to call center guidelines.
• Promotes, advocates, and collaborates to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
• Provides patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
• Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.
