Job summary

Longmont United Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for telephone triage within the Call Center. The role involves handling calls from community members, physician practices, managed care members, and Home Care patients, performing health assessments using computerized guidelines, and routing referrals as needed.

The successful candidate will hold an RN license, have strong telephone triage skills, and be able to function efficiently in a multi‑task environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or RN endorsement required.
• Three (3) years recent hospital, home health or clinic experience required.
• RN license; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls for all product lines and provides thorough and accurate telephone triage.
• Assesses patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Documents all calls according to call center guidelines.
• Promotes, advocates, and collaborates to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
• Provides patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Telephone Triage, you will work as a telephone triage Registered Nurse in the Call Center, managing calls from diverse clients including community members, physician practices, managed care members, and Home Care patients.

Every day you will perform health assessments using computerized guidelines, provide general health information from approved references, and as needed, provide physician and community service referrals. You will expertly function in a multi-task environment to support various client contracts.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with strong telephone triage skills, expertise in health assessments, and the ability to function efficiently in a multi-task environment.

• Answers incoming phone calls for all product lines and provides thorough and accurate telephone triage.
• Assesses patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Documents all calls according to call center guidelines.

This position will support the Longmont Neurology Clinic.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
• Three (3) years recent hospital, home health or clinic experience.
• RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
