Job summary

Requirements include an active New Jersey nursing license and BLS/CPR; BSN in progress within three years. Six months of experience or Nurse Residency participation is expected, with optional telemetry and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Must have six (6) or more months of nursing experience OR active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
• Telemetry certification is a plus.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• National certification is a plus.
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and dedication to ongoing education to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices per up-to-date evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Ongoing communication with patients and healthcare team regarding status and care plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safe delivery.
• Electronic documentation of patient assessments, plans, interventions, and evaluations.
• Patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Discharge planning ensuring safe transitioning and continuum of care.
