Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Telemetry RN for a 23-bed medical-surgical unit in Kentucky. The assignment lasts 14 weeks with day shifts and 12-hour shifts per shift. Requires 2 years of nursing experience, compact or state license, and BLS. EKG exam is part of onboarding.

Responsibilities include caring for postoperative orthopedic and GI patients, with high turnover and potential float to other units within your skill set. Interdisciplinary support is available for patient care and education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Float to other units within your skill set as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Social Services).
• Participate in orientation modules and annual competency/pharmacology exams.
• Cares for post-operative and medicine patients on a 23-bed unit.
• Ensure compliance with unit policies and safety protocols.

Description:This is a 23-bed medical-surgical unit.It cares for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients.The unit experiences a high volume, usually receiving 10-20 post-operative patients per day.There are capabilities for cardiac and oxygen monitoring.Nursing requirements include both medical and surgical skill sets and BLS.ACLS is not a requirement.Candidates should be prepared to float to other units within their skill set.Local travelers within a specified radius are not accepted.The unit functions with a high turnover rate.Candidates must be comfortable with multiple admissions and discharges per shift.Compliance requirements involve various competency and pharmacology exams.Candidates will participate in billable modules during orientation and annually.This unit includes interdisciplinary support such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.Patient diagnoses primarily include post-operative patients, as well as medicine patients.
