Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Telemetry unit in Freeport, IL. This 13-week assignment requires 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7:30 AM) with a 4-5:1 patient ratio during the day and 5-6 at night, and telemetry monitoring throughout.

Must have a state nursing license, 2+ years of experience, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and phlebotomy experience is preferred. Familiarity with post-catheter care and titrating drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone and Dopamine is highly valued;

Qualifications

• Active state nursing license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or related unit.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience with post-catheter care and stroke care is highly preferred.
• Ability to titrate drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on telemetry unit.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5 during day and 5-6 at night.
• Monitor telemetry strips and respond to abnormalities.
• Float to ICU, medical-surgical units, and ER as needed.

Description:The position is within the telemetry unit.The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4-5 during the day and 5-6 at night.Common diagnoses include stroke, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and coronary artery disease.Experience with post-cath recovery and stroke care is highly preferred.Recent experience of 2+ years is required.Candidates must have experience titrating drips.Common titratable drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Dopamine, while Heparin can be titrated.Telemetry monitoring is conducted on the unit, with RNs required to sign off on telemetry strips.Charge nurses have patient assignments.Nurse aides are available, with a ratio that depends on patient acuity.Respiratory therapy equipment such as BiPAP and high flow is utilized in the unit.Shifts are scheduled based on current needs with a requirement for weekends every other week.Holiday rotation may be required.Floating to ICU, medical-surgical units, and emergency room will take place as needed.Scrub color is flexible based on department guidelines.Travelers must disclose any previous employment within the organization.
