Job summary

You will manage complex cardiac patients, monitor telemetry, administer IV meds, and collaborate with a fast-paced team while floating to units as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in telemetry or critical care.
• Active RN license (state or compact) and BLS; NIH required; ACLS preferred.
• EPIC electronic health record experience; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Must pass online EKG competency assessment prior to starting.
• N95 fitting required; availability to work every other weekend and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage cardiac drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and monitor telemetry.
• Provide post–MI and pre/post–catheterization care as needed.
• Float to other units based on skill set and unit census.

Description:This position requires a highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry.The unit typically cares for patients with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, post-procedure recovery, COPD exacerbations, and substance abuse issues.RNs must be capable of managing IV drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin.The typical patient ratio is 5 patients per nurse during nights and weekends.Floating to other units based on skill set and unit census may be required.The candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.This role includes performing critical nursing tasks such as managing cardiac drips, interpreting dysrhythmias, and administering blood products.Compliance with isolation precautions and maintaining proper hygiene practices are essential.Candidates must demonstrate competency in advanced cardiac care and be familiar with various respiratory support methods.Additional competencies required include telemetry monitoring and wound care management.Candidates should have experience in post-myocardial infarction care and pre/post-cardiac catheterization procedures.There is a requirement for the flu vaccine with medical or religious exemptions only.References are not required for application submission.
