Job summary

The role emphasizes using the nursing process from admission to discharge, vigilant observation of residents, timely reporting of changes to the charge nurse and medical team, and completing essential documentation and care planning.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a current, valid state RN license.
• Current, valid CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to ensure meds, treatments, documentation, and care planning follow policies; conduct family teaching and care conferences.
• Use nursing process to deliver patient care and ensure continuity from admission to discharge.
• Visit residents daily to assess status and notify charge nurse/physician/DON of changes.
• Identify problems and emergencies and initiate lifesaving measures when no physician is present.
• Complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies and charting as needed.
