Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Surgical Unit-I at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The RN will provide comprehensive care, collaborate with physicians, and document in EPIC while supporting patient education and safety.

The position requires NJ RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within six months, and preferably a BSN with Telemetry/Med/Surg experience; on-site daytime shifts with weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification; ACLS within six months of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred; accredited School of Nursing required.
• Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
• Certifications such as MEDSURG-BC, PCCN, CMSRN are a plus.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers.
• Educate patients and families clearly to support next steps of care.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to coordinate care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and shared accountability.
