Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee and coordinate resident care during assigned shifts in Michigan. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans and supervise LPNs, CNAs, and other staff to ensure safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute preferred.
• Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises LPNs, Medication Aides, CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities.
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety.
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands.
• Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff.
• Oversee unit operations during absence of higher-level management.
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
