Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks an RN Supervisor to oversee nursing services and ensure the highest quality resident care under the Director of Nursing Services. The role requires acute clinical leadership, staff supervision, and adherence to policies.

Key responsibilities include initiating care plans on admission, coordinating with physicians, QA, and families, and maintaining a safe, compliant environment. Strong English communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current nursing licensure in the state in which practicing.
• At least one year of experience in supervision.
• Strong qualities of leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
• Possess mental, emotional and physical health.

Responsibilities

• Assure that residents have a clean, safe, orderly and comfortable environment.
• Initiate resident Plans of Care on admission.
• Assist in implementing recommendations from consultants and the QA team as directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, revising and updating resident Plans of Care for individual residents.
• Notify attending/alternate physician and guardian/representative of significant changes in condition as outlined in policies.
• Review complaints and grievances from families and notify the DON as necessary.
• Evaluate emergencies and assist in implementing emergency measures.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and ensure equipment and supplies for nursing care.
• Assist in notification of physician of incidents; complete Accident/Incident Reports.
• Assist in the investigation of alleged abuse or unusual occurrences.
• Start and monitor IV medications as ordered.
• Assist in supervising and directing nursing personnel.
• Assist in admitting, transferring and discharging residents.
• Complete restraint, pain, oral, psychotropic, bowel/bladder assessments and I&O evaluations.
• Ensure nurse notes are informative and descriptive.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service classes.
• Others as directed by DON or Administrator.
