Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved RN or LVN program.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
• Possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide patient care per applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate critical thinking to develop a nursing plan of care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and standards of care.
• Willingness to supervise professional and nonprofessional staff.
• Proficient English speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and oversight of an assigned nursing unit including assignment and coordination of nursing care.
• Provide supervision and support for nursing staff according to training level and resident acuity.
• Monitor compliance with facility procedures and regulations.
• Maintain shift operation in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Conduct daily rounds to assess resident status and implement required interventions.
• Guide direct patient care staff on technique and policy adhearance.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary care plan meetings and contribute to person-centered plans.
• Ensure safety and infection control practices are followed.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure documentation complies with regulations.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
