Job summary

Advocate Health's 15-bed Progressive Care Unit is seeking a full-time RN for 3 x 12-hour shifts (7p-7a) on the Union campus. The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include a BSN, NC RN licensure, BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience, with leadership experience preferred. The unit emphasizes collaboration and staffing coordination, supporting the manager and promoting optimal patient flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Minimum two years nursing experience preferred.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• RN candidates with BSN must enroll in BSN within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and complete within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance nursing practice and delivery of care.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates communication at regular intervals during shifts to exchange information and promote dialogue.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws, healthcare regulations, and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess care quality and department operations.
• Delegates care to appropriate healthcare staff per policy parameters.
• Identifies expected outcomes to guide continuity of care and department operations.
• Evaluates progress toward goals and disseminates updates to the team.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and medications as needed.
• Manages patient flow and staffing through ongoing assessment of volume and acuity.
