Job summary

Avalon Rehab and Care Center is seeking an RN Supervisor to lead our overnight nursing team on the 11 PM–7 AM shift. This role is ideal for a clinical leader who thrives on mentoring staff, optimizing resident safety, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care through the night.

Responsibilities include supervising RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; providing clinical guidance; monitoring care standards; guiding admissions, transfers, and assessments; ensuring accurate meds, docs and procedures;

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar.
• Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making capabilities.

• Supervise and support nursing staff during the overnight shift.

• Monitor resident care and ensure standards are met.
• Respond to changes in resident condition with appropriate interventions.
• Communicate with physicians, families, and the care team.

What You'll Do as RN Supervisor

• Supervise and support nursing staff during the overnight shift

• Provide clinical guidance to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs

• Monitor resident care and ensure nursing services are delivered according to established standards

• Respond to changes in resident condition and coordinate appropriate interventions

• Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members

• Assist with admissions, transfers, and resident assessments as needed

• Ensure medications, treatments, documentation, and clinical procedures are completed accurately

• Promote compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and quality-of-care standards

• Serve as a visible and supportive nursing leader for the overnight team

• Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

What We're Looking For

• Current New Jersey RN license in good standing

• Prior nursing experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a similar setting preferred

• Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions

• Compassionate approach to resident care

• Strong organizational and documentation skills
